Upcoming Events & Announcements

DoT Moment of the Month

Google Suite for Education transforms teaching and learning, and streamlines office productivity. We continuing to celebrate this unified platform for collaboration and communication with a fun Google Search Scavenger Hunt! Get Googley!

Cybersecurity Tip

Managing passwords today is complicated. Security experts recommend different passwords for each system. For all those passwords a password manager becomes an essential tool. Chrome and Safari include simple managers, but if you use multiple browsers or need something more robust, a standalone application is preferable.

Digital Learning

Flowchart with action steps for digital learning and digital citizenship

Join us on May 9 for the 2nd Annual Digital Learning Faire, where the DoT and other departments will exhibit student-centered digital learning. The event will be held at KQED on Thursday, May 9, 2019, from 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM.

Space is limited! RSVP by April 18 if you will join us.

It's time to refresh all Laptops for Educators (L4E) devices this school year! Over half of district sites have already either successfully completed or coordinated an exchange event with DoT. A current list of past & upcoming exchange events and eligibility requirements can be found at l4e.sfusd.edu. Site leaders looking to schedule an exchange event can submit a ticket at help.sfusd.edu to request those details.

Project Management Highlights

The SFUSD Web Properties Redesign is set to debut in March with a phased rollout approach, unveiling updated school profile pages. We are excited about the progress made as we continue to transition SFUSD onto a unified Internet platform.

Help Desk

Be sure your technical support issue is received when emailing your help request: address your email to Help@sfusd.edu not helpdesk@sfusd.edu. After your message is received, a reply email will confirm it and provide your service request ticket number.

Google Tip

Animation showing the shortcuts for creating new files

Google introduced a new time-saving trick to create new documents, decks, and files. Simply type the shortcuts into the search box of your Chrome browser, and a new file of that type will automatically be created and saved in the My Drive folder. See all the shortcuts.
